Lake Shore Country Club

Course Description:

            18 Hole Private Country Club located on the shore of Lake Michigan, 30 miles north of Chicago, on 110 acres.  Lake Shore is currently renovating the golf course directed by Architect Ron Prichard with the work being performed by Turf Drain International.  The renovation includes total bunker restoration, fairway expansion, green expansion, irrigation modification, ravine re-invigoration, tee construction and clubhouse landscape work.  A Fredrick Law Olmsted Jr. design in 1908, the course has received many modifications in the Clubs 113 year history.  Using historical pictures, Ron Prichard in 2002 used these as a guide to restore bunkering and hazard locations to its original design. This past year Mr. Prichard has expanded on this process with the current project and included his own vision to establish a fair and challenging golf experience for the 275 members at Lake Shore.  

As a social club, the Department oversees tennis court maintenance, driving range, short-game facilities, 2 clubhouses, beach and lake front areas in addition to the golf course.  The Club is also currently in the process of renovating the Clubhouse and grounds, including the pool, landscaping and parking lot areas.  

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be involved with many hands on experiences, including;

Daily course set-up, irrigation repair and trouble shooting, drainage installation, chemical and fertilizer applications, equipment maintenance, reel set-up and grinding, heavy equipment use, team leading via projects, winter re-build, snow removal, operational programming of irrigation system, programs for plant health and purchasing, exposure to budgets and presentations, Green & Grounds meetings, involvement in decisions made on a daily basis for the operation of the department, monitoring of turf conditions of greens, tees and fairways and associated hand-watering, all aspects of course maintenance.

Built in 1989 designed by Richard Nugent to evolve around the existing natural environment while providing a challenging 6,816 par 71 golf course.

The Royal Fox also features a variety of dining options, outdoor pool, a fitness facility, fully stocked proshop as well as a social event calendar that is sure to entertain every member of the family.

In 2017, Royal Fox began a multi-million-dollar renovation on the clubhouse and the golf course. This project includes upgrades to Better Billy Bunkers, updated equipment for the course and the kitchen, a lower level clubhouse renovation with upgrades to the pro shop, fitness center and locker rooms. Summary

Course Description:  Sunset Ridge Country Club, originated in 1923, is a private club located in Northfield, IL.  In addition to the 18-hole golf course, other outdoor Club amenities include a practice range and short game practice area, swimming pool, six clay tennis courts, winter skeet/trap range, and six platform tennis courts.
